How treasure maps work
You find a map. It shows a drawing of a location somewhere in the Caribbean. You match the drawing to the actual location. You dig. The treasure spawns. 22 of these exist.
The maps themselves are found on corpses, in chests, or bought from vendors. The locations they point to are always fixed.
Key treasure locations
Misteriosa Island (100% collectibles)
Small island southwest of Kingston. Contains Mayan temple ruins. What is here:
- 1 Viewpoint (top of north ruins)
- 3 Chests (underground opening, underwater pond, inside square doorways)
- 3 Secrets (Message in a Bottle on beach, Treasure Map skeleton, Manuscript at temple top)
- 2 Mayan Stelae (align symbols with landmarks)
Blackbeard's Treasure
Unlocks after the mission Do Not Go Gently. Head to Anotto Bay, coordinates roughly 591, 243 in the Charlotte region. This is labeled Hard difficulty.
The treasure is behind underwater tunnels. Navigate through, avoid jellyfish, use powder barrels to blast rock walls blocking your path. At the end you find Blackbeard's Portrait and a farmland cosmetic for your Great Inagua hideout.
