AC Black Flag Resynced Legendary Ships : All 4 Boss Fights & How to Beat Them
Every Legendary Ship location, weakness, and strategy. HMS Prince, La Dama Negra, El Impoluto, and the twin HMS Fearless + Royal Sovereign.
- •HMS Prince is the easiest. La Dama Negra's weak point is the rear. El Impoluto rams you constantly.
- •The twin fight (HMS Fearless + Royal Sovereign) is the hardest. Try to finish both at the same time.
- •Fight fully upgraded. Elite hull, cannons, mortars. All three officers. Fire barrels for massive damage.

The four Legendary Ships
| Ship | Location | Difficulty | |------|----------|:---:| | HMS Prince | SE corner (Fort Navassa) | ⭐⭐ | | La Dama Negra | SW corner (Fort Serranilla) | ⭐⭐⭐ | | El Impoluto | NW corner (Dry Tortuga) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | | HMS Fearless + Royal Sovereign | NE corner (Fort Eleuthera) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
HMS Prince, the warm-up
The easiest Legendary Ship. It fires mines when retreating. Avoid them. Circle behind it and unload broadsides into its rear. Standard tactics work here.
La Dama Negra, hit the rear
This ship is fast but its weak point is the stern. Circle it constantly. Stay behind it. Fire mortars when it tries to create distance. Do not chase it head-on.
El Impoluto, the rammer
This ship rams you. Repeatedly. Brace for impact when it charges. Fire mortars while it circles back for another run. Use heavy shot to slow it down between ramming attempts.
HMS Fearless + Royal Sovereign, the twin fight
Two Legendary Ships at once. The hardest naval encounter in the game. Focus one at a time, but try to finish both around the same time. If you kill one and take too long on the second, reinforcements may arrive.
Strategy: disable Fearless first (it is faster). Use fire barrels and swivel guns. When it is crippled, switch to Royal Sovereign. Finish Fearless, then clean up.
Fire barrel trick
Fire barrels deal massive damage to Legendary Ships. More importantly, Legendary Ships often fire their own fire barrels at you. Shoot those barrels with your swivel gun before they reach you. The explosion damages the enemy ship that fired them. Three hits disables most ships.
Common Mistakes
- Fighting without Elite upgrades. You need Elite hull, cannons, mortars, and all three officers. A base-level Jackdaw dies in two rams from El Impoluto. Minimum 80% ship completion before attempting any Legendary.
- Chasing El Impoluto head-on. It rams you. That is its entire strategy. If you chase it, it turns and rams. Circle it instead. Mortar it while it loops back. Do not chase.
- Focusing one twin too long in the HMS Fearless + Royal Sovereign fight. If you sink one and take more than 2 minutes on the other, reinforcements arrive. Keep both ships alive until both are near death, then finish them back to back.
- Ignoring La Dama Negra's mortar range. It fires mortars from extreme range that hit harder than any other Legendary ship's mortars. If you see the red circle on the water, break your turn immediately. Do not finish your broadside.
- Forgetting fire barrels in your inventory. You can carry 30+ fire barrels. Drop them in the path of an approaching Legendary Ship and they detonate on contact for free damage. Most players never use them.
