Palworld 1.0 Soul Enhancement Guide : How to Boost Pal Stats Permanently
Souls give your Pals permanent stat boosts. Here is where to farm every type of Pal Soul, which Pals to invest in first, and why you should not waste them on early-game creatures.
- •Souls give permanent stat boosts. Attack, Defense, HP, Work Speed, and Stamina. You cannot undo them.
- •Farm souls from chests in dungeons, high-level Pals, and the Wildlife Sanctuary. Never buy souls : too expensive.
- •Only use souls on Pals you will keep forever. Do not soul a Lamball.

Souls are permanent stat boosts for your Pals. Once applied, you cannot undo them. This means every soul you spend on a Pal you will replace later is a soul wasted. Here is how to farm them and where to spend them.
The five soul types
| Soul | Stat Boost | Priority | |------|-----------|:---:| | Attack Soul | Damage output | 1 | | Defense Soul | Damage reduction | 2 | | HP Soul | Health pool | 3 | | Stamina Soul | Stamina pool | 4 | | Work Speed Soul | Base efficiency | 5 (skip) |
Attack first. Defense second. HP third. Work Speed is almost never worth it : your base Pals do not need souls to do their jobs.
Where to farm souls
Dungeon chests
The most reliable source. Every dungeon has at least one chest with souls. Higher level dungeons drop larger souls. Run dungeons whenever you see them.
High-level Pals
Pals above level 30 have a chance to drop souls when defeated or captured. Not every Pal. Not every time. But enough to matter.
Wildlife Sanctuary
The floating islands have chests with better drop rates. More dangerous, better rewards.
Do not buy souls
The wandering merchant sells souls. They are absurdly expensive. The gold cost is not worth it. Farm dungeons instead.
Which Pals to soul first
Only soul Pals you will keep forever. Your main combat team. Your raid team. Legendaries you spent hours catching.
Do not soul:
- Early-game Pals you will replace
- Base workers (Work Speed souls are weak anyway)
- Pals you have not bred for perfect passives yet
The full progression order: breed for passives → apply mutations → condense → soul → awaken. Souls come after you are sure this Pal is a keeper.
