Palworld 1.0 Best Early Game Pals: 10 Pals That Carry Your First 20 Hours
Catch these 10 Pals first and the early game gets much easier. Mounts, combat, base automation, and flying: here is the priority order.
- •Eikthyrdeer is your first mount. Foxparks is a flamethrower. Nitewing gives you flight. Get all three before level 15.
- •Daedream floats beside you and attacks for free. Catch it at night in the starting hills.
- •Incineram handles mining and smelting at your base. Capture one from a Syndicate goon at Windswept Island Watchtower.

10 Pals in the order you should catch them
1. Lamball (mass catch for XP)
Lamball is not exciting. But catching 12 of them gives a huge XP bonus and jump starts your leveling. Wool is useful for cloth early. Grab a dozen, move on.
2. Cattiva (carry weight)
Increases your carry capacity just by being in your party. You pick up a lot of rocks in this game. Cattiva makes it so you can pick up more rocks before walking slowly back to base.
3. Foxparks (combat + base)
Craft the harness and it turns into a handheld flamethrower. Melts early enemies and bosses. Also handles Kindling at your base so you can cook food without standing at the campfire yourself. Get this before your first big fight.
4. Eikthyrdeer (first mount)
Unlock the saddle at level 12. Fast ground travel changes how you interact with the map. Also chops wood at level 2 Logging. Two useful roles on one Pal.
5. Daedream (free bonus DPS)
Floats beside you and shoots enemies even when you have another Pal out. Found only at night in the starting hills. This is essentially a second party member that costs nothing.
6. Rushoar (mining shortcut)
Use its charge attack on ore nodes. One hit shatters a rock that would take you 30 seconds with a pickaxe. Do not sleep on this pig.
7. Nitewing (first flying mount)
Unlock the saddle at level 15. Found west of Small Settlement. Once you can fly, the entire map opens. All the running you did before feels like wasted time.
8. Croajiro (vertical mobility)
Its Leap Stance ability gives you a massive vertical jump. Combine with the Grappling Hook at level 12 and you can reach almost anywhere before getting a flying mount.
9. Incineram (mining base)
Level 3 Kindling and Level 2 Mining on one Pal. Perfect for an automated mining and smelting outpost. Capture one from a Syndicate goon at Windswept Island Watchtower. Not a wild spawn in the early game so you have to know where to look.
10. Chillet (early boss + mount)
Your first real boss fight at around level 11. Defeat and capture it, and it becomes a solid ice-type mount with decent combat stats. A good upgrade from Eikthyrdeer if you want something that fights better.
