MultiplayerCo-opServerSetup
TL;DR — What You'll Learn
  • Up to 32 players on a dedicated server. 4-player co-op on a hosted world.
  • Full crossplay is in 1.0. PC, Xbox, and PlayStation players can join the same world.
  • Assign roles: one player catches Pals, one builds the base, one farms resources.

How to host a co-op world

From the main menu, select Start Game, create a new world, and toggle Multiplayer to On. Invite friends through the in-game menu with an invite code. Up to 4 players can join a hosted world. The host needs to be online for others to connect.

Dedicated servers support 32 players

Rent a server or run one yourself. Dedicated servers stay online even when the host is offline, and support up to 32 players. If you want a persistent world where people can play at different times, you need a dedicated server.

Crossplay is here

Palworld 1.0 supports full crossplay. PC players on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 can all join the same world. No more platform walls between friends.

Split the work. Do not duplicate effort.

Four people all catching Lamballs is inefficient. Assign roles:

  • One player goes out catching Pals (XP for the team)
  • One player builds and maintains the base
  • One player farms ore and stone for crafting
  • One player scouts dungeons and marks locations on the map

Guilds share resources. Pals in the Palbox are shared. Base inventory is shared. Work together or waste time.

PvP exists now

1.0 added a PvP mode. It is separate from co-op. You join a PvP server, not toggle it in a co-op world. Expect early game griefing. Build defenses or play on PvE until you have a real base.
