Who Gets to Play First?
New Zealand players start at 11:00 AM UTC on November 18, a full 13 hours before US East Coast players. This has led to the infamous "New Zealand trick" on Xbox:
- Go to Xbox Settings → System → Language & Location
- Change Location to New Zealand
- Restart console
- Game unlocks at NZ midnight (which is 6:00 AM EST / 3:00 AM PST on Nov 18)
This trick has worked for nearly every major Xbox release. PlayStation players cannot do this, PSN accounts are region-locked to their store.

- Expect server issues. Every major Rockstar launch has had launch-day server problems. Don't be surprised if online has are unstable for the first 24-48 hours.
