AC Black Flag Resynced Kenway's Fleet Guide: Build Your Trading Empire
How to unlock, build, and maximize Kenway's Fleet in Black Flag Resynced. Best trade routes, ship selection, and how to earn passive income while you explore.
- •Kenway's Fleet is the best passive income source in the game. A fully optimized fleet earns 15,000-20,000 Reales per cycle.
- •Always send captured Man O' Wars to your fleet. They carry the most cargo and win the hardest trade missions.
- •The fleet mini-game runs in real time even when you are not playing. Check it every time you dock at a harbor master.

Kenway's Fleet is the most underrated system in Black Flag Resynced. Most players capture a few ships, send them on a couple of trade missions, and forget the system exists. That is a mistake — a properly managed fleet is your biggest income stream and costs zero effort once set up.
How to Unlock Kenway's Fleet
After capturing your first ship and choosing the "Send to Kenway's Fleet" option during boarding (instead of repairing the Jackdaw or sinking the ship), the fleet system unlocks. You access it from the captain's cabin on the Jackdaw or any harbor master.
What to send to the fleet: Always send captured ships to the fleet — never sink them, never repair with them. The Jackdaw repairs for free at any harbor master dock. There is zero reason to use captured ships for repairs unless you are mid-combat and about to die.
Fleet UI Explained
When you open the fleet menu, you see:
- Your ships: Listed with their type (Schooner, Brig, Frigate, Man O' War), cargo capacity, and current status (Idle or On Mission).
- Available trade routes: Each route has a difficulty, reward, duration, and risk level. Higher risk = more Reales but higher chance of ship damage or loss.
- Danger zones: Some trade routes pass through pirate-infested waters. These show a skull icon. Avoid them until your fleet is strong.
Ship Selection: What to Keep, What to Scuttle
| Ship Type | Cargo | Combat Power | Verdict | |-----------|:-----:|:------------:|---------| | Schooner | 10-15 | Very Low | Use early game only. Scuttle once you have 5+ ships. | | Brig | 20-30 | Low-Medium | Decent midgame. Keep 2-3 as escorts. | | Frigate | 40-55 | High | Your workhorse. Aim for 5+ frigates. | | Man O' War | 70-90 | Maximum | The best ship. Every Man O' War you capture should go to the fleet. |
Your maximum fleet size starts at 5 and increases as you capture more ships. There is no hard cap, but the UI only shows the first 15.
Priority: 3 Man O' Wars → 5 Frigates → Fill remaining slots with Brigs. Never keep Schooners past the early game.
Best Trade Routes (Highest Profit Per Hour)
Trade routes update every 12 real-time minutes. Here are the most profitable routes and their requirements:
| Route | Cargo Needed | Reward | Risk | Requirement | |-------|:-----------:|:------:|:----:|-------------| | Havana to Kingston | 80+ | 8,000-12,000 Reales | Low | 2 Frigates | | Nassau to Tortuga | 120+ | 12,000-18,000 Reales | Medium | 1 Man O' War + 3 Frigates | | Caribbean Loop (South) | 180+ | 18,000-25,000 Reales | High | 2 Man O' Wars + 3 Frigates | | Transatlantic (East) | 200+ | 20,000-30,000 Reales | Very High | 3 Man O' Wars + escorts |
Stick to Havana-Kingston and Nassau-Tortuga until your fleet has at least 5 ships with 200+ total cargo capacity. The Transatlantic route can lose ships permanently if your fleet is not strong enough.
The Combat Mini-Game
When a trade route passes through a danger zone, a naval combat mini-game triggers. This is turn-based and plays out automatically over about 30 seconds.
How to win every fleet battle:
- Always send at least one ship stronger than the mission requirement as an "escort." If the mission says "2 Frigates," send 1 Man O' War and 1 Frigate instead.
- Focus fire on the strongest enemy ship first during the battle phase. The AI targets randomly — you should not.
- Damaged ships are automatically repaired over 24 real-time minutes. Do not send a damaged ship on another mission immediately — the risk of losing it doubles.
How Much Money Does This Actually Make?
With an optimized fleet (3 Man O' Wars, 5 Frigates, 3 Brigs), running missions every cycle:
- Per trade cycle (12 min): 12,000-20,000 Reales
- Per hour of play: 60,000-100,000 Reales
- Per real-life day (if you check 3-4 times): 150,000-300,000 Reales
This is more money than plundering ships or completing story missions. For comparison, the most expensive ship upgrade (Elite Hull Armor) costs 45,000 Reales — less than an hour of fleet income.
Fleet vs. Other Income Sources
| Method | Reales per Hour | Effort | Risk | |--------|:---:|--------|------| | Kenway's Fleet | 60,000-100,000 | Passive | Low | | Naval plundering | 40,000-60,000 | Active | Medium | | Treasure maps | 10,000-20,000 ea. | Active | None | | Assassin contracts | 5,000-10,000 ea. | Active | Low | | Story missions | Variable | Active | High |
The optimal strategy: Set up your fleet first thing every session. While the trade missions run in the background, do active content (story, treasure maps, contracts). Collect fleet rewards every time you pass a harbor master.
Common Mistakes
"I forgot to check my fleet for three hours": Missions auto-complete but rewards cap. If all your ships are idle, you are losing potential income. Check every 30 minutes.
"I sent my only Man O' War on a dangerous mission and it sank": Never send your best ship solo on a High or Very High risk mission. The ship can be permanently lost. Always pair it with escorts.
"I keep capturing Schooners": Stop. Schooners have negligible cargo capacity. Capture Brigs or higher for the fleet. Use Schooners to repair the Jackdaw mid-combat if you must, but do not add them to the fleet.
