Moonlight Peaks Money Guide: How to Get Rich as a Vampire Farmer
The fastest ways to make money in Moonlight Peaks. Farming strategy, Nokturna card game farming, mining for gems, and passive income from livestock and Kenway's Fleet-style trading.
- •Frostberry greenhouse farming earns 43,000G per season; the single biggest income source available. Rush the greenhouse as fast as possible.
- •Nokturna card games earn 3,000-7,500G per week with zero investment. Do this alongside farming, not instead of it.
- •Blood Wool and Infernal Milk from livestock are pure passive income. Buy 2 Draculambs and 2 Hellkittens immediately; they pay for themselves in 18 nights.
Money in Moonlight Peaks comes from four sources: farming, livestock, the Nokturna card game, and mining for gems. Here is how much each earns, the optimal strategy for each, and how to stack them for maximum gold.
Income Source Comparison
| Source | Work Type | Est. Weekly Income | Startup Cost | |--------|----------|:---:|:---:| | Frostberry Greenhouse (winter) | Daily harvest | 10,700G | 5,000G + materials | | Vampire Vine farming (fall) | Daily harvest | 4,000G | 500G for seeds | | Draculambs + Hellkittens | Passive (daily collect) | 2,900G | 7,000G for 4 animals | | Nokturna Card Game | Active (weekly) | 3,000-7,500G | 0G (starter deck) | | Gem Mining | Active (mining runs) | 2,000-5,000G per run | 300G for pickaxe upgrade | | Fishing | Active | 1,000-2,000G | 0G | | Quest Rewards | Active (one-time) | 500-3,000G each | Varies |
The optimal income strategy: Farm + Livestock (passive daily income) + Nokturna (weekly income) + Seasonal mining runs (when you need specific gems). This earns 15,000-20,000G per in-game week by mid-game.
Phase 1: Early Game Money (First Season, Spring)
Starting gold: 500G.
Nights 1-7: Plant 20 Nightshade. Harvest every 2 nights. Sell all of it (900G per harvest, 5,400G total by night 7). Do not process into potions yet; raw Nightshade is worth more early game when you need cash for seeds and tools.
Nights 8-14: Buy 2 Draculambs (1,500G × 2 = 3,000G). Switch crops to Ghost Peppers (highest spring profit). Keep 10 Nightshade for animal feed. By night 14, your daily income is: 280G from Ghost Peppers + 240G from Blood Wool (2 Draculambs, every 3 nights averages to ~80G/day each) = ~520G per night.
Nights 15-28: Buy 2 Hellkittens (2,000G × 2 = 4,000G). Upgrade the watering can to copper. By end of spring, you should have 4 animals, copper tools, and ~8,000G saved for summer.
Phase 2: Mid-Game Scaling (Summer-Fall)
Goal: Save 15,000G for the greenhouse by end of fall.
Summer: Plant Moonlit Melons (highest summer profit). Befriend Luna to 5 hearts for the Growth Surge spell (force-harvest melons). With Growth Surge, your effective harvest rate per melon doubles; one melon every 3.5 nights instead of 7.
Fall: Plant Vampire Vines. They require trellises (wood + iron, cheap). Vampire Vines also drop Void Essence as a rare bonus (10% chance per harvest), which sells for 800G.
Greenhouse timing: If you follow this pace, you will have the greenhouse built by mid-fall. Immediately plant Frostberries. The greenhouse pays for itself in 12 nights.
Phase 3: Late Game Economy (Winter+)
Income breakdown with full setup (Winter):
| Source | Per Night | Per Week | |--------|:---:|:---:| | Frostberry Greenhouse (24 plots) | 1,536G | 10,752G | | Draculambs (2) + Hellkittens (2) + Wraith Cow (1) | ~500G | 3,500G | | Nokturna (15 NPCs, once per week) | | 4,500G | | Occasional mining runs (gems) | | 2,000G | | Total | ~2,036G/night | ~20,752G/week |
At this income level, you can buy every upgrade, every recipe, and every decoration in the game within 2 seasons. Money stops mattering. At that point, focus on completing the Seven Families storyline and maxing out relationships.
Nokturna Money: The Forgotten Gold Mine
As covered in the Beginner Guide, the Nokturna card game earns 200-500G per win per NPC per week. Here is the town-wide route optimized for time:
Nokturna Night (Monday): Every NPC resets their challenge on Monday (in-game). Dedicate Monday night to card games:
- Start at the Howling Wolf Tavern (4 werewolves) → 800-2,000G
- Walk to Luna's Potion Shop (2 witches) → 400-1,000G
- Fly to Town Square (5 humans) → 1,000-2,500G
- Finish at Mermaid Cove (2 mermaids, requires diving) → 400-1,000G
Total Monday haul: 2,600-6,500G in about 2 in-game hours. Spend the rest of the week farming and doing whatever you want; Nokturna is a single-night weekly commitment.
The deck to use: Once you have access to rare cards (buy from the traveling merchant on Fridays), build this deck:
- 5x Bat Shield (defense, 2 cost)
- 5x Crimson Heal (healing, 3 cost)
- 5x Shadow Strike (attack, 3 cost)
- 3x Vampiric Drain (attack + heal, 5 cost)
- 2x Full Moon (doubles all damage for 3 turns, 7 cost)
Strategy: defend + heal until you reach 10 mana → Full Moon → Shadow Strike spam for 3 turns. Wins against every AI except the tournament champion.
What NOT to Spend Money On
- Sword upgrades. You can clear all combat content with Shadow Bolt + Mist Form. The sword is a cosmetic weapon.
- House decorations early game. Your farmhouse does not generate income. Upgrade it last.
- The traveling merchant's random items. 90% are overpriced. Only buy Crystal Balls (500G, needed for Witch Coven quest) and rare Nokturna cards.
- Prepared meals from the bakery. Olivia charges 200G for a dish you can cook yourself for 50G of ingredients.
- The "Expand Coffin" upgrade. You do not need a king-size coffin. The Travel Coffin is the only coffin upgrade that matters (place it anywhere outside).
